The approach to the language is strictly based on communication. In order to teach lessons teachers use authentic material such as newspaper articles, films, songs, cd-roms, etc. The I.F.F method answers student's communication needs developing written and oral abilities that enable him/her to interact in everyday life and working situations. The Levels
At the end of the classes a Study Certificate will be given which shows the level and the total number of lessons attended. CALENDAR 2010The new classes will start on monday:
The Institute will be closed on the following days: 05/04, 02/06, 01/11 and 08/12. A1 - STARTERS: The student can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and simple sentences aimed at the satisfaction of concrete needs. He/she can introduce him/herself and others, ask and answer questions about personal details, people, places and things. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks clearly and slowly and helps. A2 - ELEMENTARY: The student can understand simple and frequently used phrases and expressions, related to areas of most immediate personal relevance; he/she can read very short and simple texts (such as advertisements, prospectuses, personalletters), can communicate simple and routine tasks, can handle very short social exchanges, can describe aspects of his/her background and job, as well as the environment and matters in areas of immediate need. B1 - INTERMEDIATE: The student can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the Ianguage is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. B2 - INDIPENDENT: The student can understand extended speech and texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. He/she can read articles and reports regarding contemporary problems, can understand contemporary literary prose. He/she can write clear and detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to his/her field of interest. He/she can speak with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible, can explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. C1- ADVANCED: The student can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. C2 – PERFECTIONING: The student can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations. |
